Our Passion
In psychotherapy services, we are dedicated to helping you improve your quality of life so that you achieve the balance you've been looking for.

Our Philosophy
In our training and consulting services, we strive to give other providers a wider knowledge base about marginalized populations and their specific healthcare needs so that healthcare services as a whole are more accepting and accessible.

In therapy, we believe it is a process that should be guided jointly by the client and the therapist. A variety of methodologies are utilized, depending on the needs and issues because we don’t believe one theory or approach to therapy will work with every individual. We have an inclusive and accepting style and strive to meet each person on any level. The goal is not to tell you where we think you should be, but to help you figure it out in the therapeutic process.

New Gender Identity Training & Consultation Group forming.

This group is designed to give therapists ongoing training around gender therapy and opportunity to consult around clients they may currently be working with who have gender identity-related issues. Topics we'll cover include transgender identity development, helping clients with re-socialization, employment transition issues, legal/ redocumentation information, sexuality & sexual orientation issues, and partner/family concerns. You do not need to currently have clients that identify as transgender-- only a willingness and interest in learning.

We will meet monthly, the first Monday of every month, beginning May 5, 2008, from 9-11am at 4753 N. Broadway, Suite 608, Chicago, IL 60640.
There is free parking available and it's right next to the Red Line El stop.

Cost is $75 per session and this first closed group will consist of six monthly sessions before we'll open it up again to new members who would like to join.

Please contact Laura Grimes, LCSW at (773) 659-9207 or laura@riverrocktherapy.com for more information or to join.
